The only player that really works for me is Synthfont. It seems that it doesn't take the patch setting in sonar too well and defaults most thing to patch 0. Vsampler is kinda weird also, I still couldn't figure it out yet. I could never it to play get my drum kits, it just default to patch 0 (piano) no matter what the patch setting is (127:0). It may not be compatible with all sf2 format. Try changing it to 16 bit, sonar stops working all together since the CPU is maxed out. When using it as VST, it sucks the life out of my PC (HP laptop 1.2 Ghz Pm). sfz requires double that amount of memory ( why ?). Pretty useless if you need several sounds. It works for small sf and you can only open 1 sf file at a time. I wonder why so many people recommend it. This is f*ck*ng a no brainer!! Imagine having to set loop points of every single sample on a 4 velocity layer note per note when samples were alread perfect and ready to go in the first place.Sfz doesn't work for me. Hi, i converted an akai cdrom to sf2 with the pc program cdxtract and the soundfonts not work (no samples loaded) after i tested with pc program extreme sample converter and most soundfonts works, sometimes after loaded some sf2 the kronos programs need editing for manually selecting the good waveform but after it's ok. It seems that some people get it to work, some don't, and no one from the latter camp ever moves to the former.
